"Can you hear the call of the North Star?
Feel its longing in your heart.
This bond is eternal, sworn through blood,
At the end we will stand as one." -Ensiferum, "Blood is the Price of Glory"
I'm Brogan, I'm 24, female and Welsh. I'm in love with winter and Northern European landscapes, and am really interested in Norse mythology, heathenism and Viking history.
I have a degree in English Language and Literature, and I'm a huge fan of Dorothy Parker. I also adore Woolf and any stream-of-consciousness writing. I'm fascinated by Gnosticism and esoteric interpretations of religion. I love old-fashioned things and want to live in a cabin or a cottage with a wood fire, surrounded by forests and mountains and lakes and beautiful things. I'm very politically minded and pretty right-wing, though that doesn't make me any of the unpleasant things it's fashionable these days to assume right-of-centre thinking entails. My music taste varies from Folk Metal to chart-topping indie, but my taste in television is 90% British comedy. If you appreciate The Thick of It, Blackadder, I'm Alan Partridge, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace and Red Dwarf we are likely to become best friends.
This blog is a bit of everything but mostly pretty photography of Northern European landscapes, Viking weaponry, crafts and clothing, and anything generally old-fashioned, whimsical and beautiful that appeals to me. Feel free to drop anything in my ask box, questions and comments are always appreciated.
